Thank you for visiting our website and I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Brill School, set in the beautiful countryside of Buckinghamshire.
Brill is a happy school. Our children make firm friendships and are creatively immersed in their learning. From their reception year onwards, children at Brill are encouraged to discover their interests and develop their personalities as they progress through the school.
We aim for high standards of academic achievement and our results at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and in the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test (11+) demonstrate this. We challenge our pupils and encourage them to get the most from their education. Our unique geographical location, on the edge of the village of Brill with rolling countryside around us, allows our children to enjoy not just a stimulating academic environment, but also a physical one and our pupils are encouraged to participate in sporting and creative activities including through our Forest School.
The teachers at Brill are highly qualified and conscientious and work hard to ensure that our curriculum is broad, stimulating and engaging for all of our pupils. We have excellent support staff and our facilities allow us to enrich the curriculum with an abundant range of extra-curricular activities including many sports, arts, dance, cookery and choir. Our sporting provision is an important part of our identity and our children take part in competitions across a range of sports in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Every child takes part in physical activity.
Although we place an emphasis on standards of numeracy, literacy and science and have repeatedly achieved outstanding results, we are also determined to make ours a rich and diverse curriculum. Investment in information technology has enabled our children to use up to date equipment to make films, radio broadcasts and podcasts and to use the internet as a valuable learning tool. We have an extensive music programme and a dedicated language teacher, who ensures that every child, from the very youngest, learns to speak French and Spanish as part of the normal curriculum with the opportunity of a French residential trip in year 6.
Brill is a Church of England school and our Christian values are at the core of everything we do. Honesty, service, love, compassion, hope, thankfulness, diversity, respect, joy, peace, forgiveness and courage: we teach with these in mind, and our children grow with them.
I am committed to maintaining high standards and constantly working to evolve and improve Brill School, so that we can fulfil our mission of having ‘The Wind in our Sails’. When our children leave Brill, we want them to have reached their full potential and be fully equipped and prepared to be successful in life.
It is impossible to capture the complete picture in this space so I encourage you to look at the whole website and, if possible, to come and have a look around our school.
If you would like further information about any aspect of our school or you would like to arrange for a tour with the Headteacher, please contact the school office at the address, telephone number or email as shown in our contact details.
