Being at Brill
The Pointer Butchers started supplying Brill School with lunches in September 2011, such has been the success of this venture, that we have also been supplying Oakley School since January 2015. By the start of May 2018 we had supplied a grand total of 132,000 meals to the two village schools!
The meals are prepared daily in The Brill Memorial Hall kitchen, which has proven to be a great success. The Memorial Hall not only receive an income from us for the hire of their facilities, but the hall was also able to re-fit the kitchen with new commercial equipment following a grant of £5000 from Bucks County Council which was supported by the provision of our school meals service as a benefit to our community.
The Pointer Butchers supplies all of the ingredients for the meals. Once delivered to the schools, the meals are served to the children by teams of lunch time supervisors.
The menus are planned following the guidelines set out from The School Food Trust. Menus are changed every term, however we tend to keep some of the children’s favourites throughout the year!
