Brill girls finish 3rd at football festival!

admin on: School News

Our Y5/6 girls finished a fabulous third in the Thame Partnership Girls’ Football Tournament at Tetsworth Green on Tuesday 21st January. Eight schools participated, playing three group games to go through to a decider – we were delighted when our girls finished second in their group, pushing on to score two goals within a few minutes to clinch third place overall. Congratulations to Sophie P on a hat-trick of goals across the tournament. Miss Butler and Mr Dickson are very proud of this fast-improving team: Georgia A, Ivy H, Alice C, Nina B, Holly W, Ellie E-M, Annie H, Maddie C, Sophie P and Lilly K.

First aid aware

admin on: School News

This week, we have been fortunate to welcome into school external First Aid trainers who have spent time with each group from Year 1 upwards, delivering potentially life-saving techniques to Brill children. From looking for signs of responsiveness, to putting their peers in the recovery position and administering CPR, this early introduction to emergency first aid is an important life skill, albeit one we hope they never need to deploy. All the children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions, taking away knowledge and skills they can build on in future years.

Basketball festival 1st place – it's a slam dunk by Y5/6!

admin on: School News

It was another outing to Buckingham School this week, taking part in the Y5/6 Basketball Festival. Mrs Harding was court side: “Games were played at a frenetic pace. Teams played girls v. girls and boys v. boys with the scores added together for overall results. The Brill girls were particularly strong and won their halves, linking up with quick passes and using the space really well. We won our group to progress to a fast-paced final, showing brilliant teamwork with short, sharp passes from the girls and good defensive play from the boys. The final was a physical game for both boys and girls but everyone kept their composure to win 1-0.”

Congratulations to the team! Girls: Georgia A, Claudia B, Ivy H, Nina B, Ella C, Lilly K. Boys: Joe G, Tijmen P, Ben N, Ryan W, Harry Ch.
